Privacy

What we collect, and what we don't.

Written in plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read is no fun at all.

Last updated: September 2026

The short version

If you buy the book, we collect your email address so we can send it to you. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe and your card details never touch our servers.

We use Meta advertising tools, which means Meta receives information about your visit. You can opt out of that, and this page explains how.

We do not sell your data. Not to anyone, ever.

Who runs this site

Unfireable is published by Adam Williams. If you have any question about your data, or you want it deleted, email adam@unfireablebook.com and a real person will answer.

What we collect

If you just visit

Your browser sends standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and which pages you viewed. Our advertising cookies also load, described below.

If you buy something

We never see or store your card number. Payment is processed on Stripe's own checkout page. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never transmitted to or stored on our systems.

Cookies and advertising

This site uses the Meta pixel and the Meta Conversions API. These are advertising tools that let us measure whether our ads actually work.

In practice, they place cookies (_fbp and _fbc) in your browser and send Meta information about your visit, including your IP address, browser details, pages viewed, and whether you completed a purchase.

When you buy, we also send Meta a purchase confirmation from our server. Your email address is cryptographically hashed before it is sent, so Meta receives a scrambled value rather than your actual address.

How to opt out

Opting out does not stop you from buying or reading the book. Nothing on this site requires tracking to function.

Who else touches your data

We use a small number of services to run this site. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.

ServiceWhat it does
StripePayments Processes your payment and stores the billing record. We never receive your card details.
MetaAdvertising Measures ad performance. Receives visit and purchase data as described above.
ResendEmail delivery Sends your download link. Receives your email address.
CloudflareHosting and storage Serves the site and stores your download token and the book files.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

How long we keep things

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the legal right to:

To exercise any of these, email adam@unfireablebook.com. We will respond within 30 days and we will not make it difficult.

Children

This site is intended for working adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Book files are stored in private storage that is not publicly accessible and can only be reached with a valid, time-limited download link.

No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection available.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that meaningfully affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
